SLT (Solid Lube Technology) utilized in a headset bearing, balls aren’t retained with a cage but with an almost fully encapsulating polymer. It allows a very small but exact amount of the ball to protrude and contact the inner and outer races.

The polymer creates a solid seal up to the internal walls of the bearing preventing liquids and fine grit from getting in to the bearing raceways.

They also have a Black Oxide outer coating to prevent rust.
