Have you recently purchased Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax and you’re unsure how to apply it? This wax emulsion lubricant is an excellent choice to keep the chain of your E-Bike in top condition and is designed especially for the higher rotational force E-Bikes put on on their chains. Not only is Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax biodegradable, but contains the same great base formula as normal Squirt but with specially selected high-pressure additives.
At Aire Velo Bearings, we offer a wide range of bearings and bicycle supplies for a variety of cyclists, and we are pleased to offer Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax to our customers. While this product does come with instructions, we understand that they may be confusing if you have never put wax on your bike chain before, which is why our team has created this guide to help you out!

How It Works
The demands on an E-Bikes drive-train are higher than that of regular bikes as they have a constant momentum change, which means they have more rotational force and a higher average mass than usual mountain or road bikes. This means that the chains can wear out faster if not properly maintained. Squirt developed their Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax with this in mind and the formula has been specially designed for the added pressure E-Bikes put on their chains.
As manufacturers of a wide range of quality balms, lubricants, and cleaners, Squirt are highly knowledgeable when it comes to meeting your bikes demands. The Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax uses the same base formula as their regular bike chain, but with added ingredients to help E-Bike chains cope with the added pressure. Now, lets dive into instructions for applying your Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax.
How to Apply:
By following these detailed instructions, we’re sure you’ll have an easy time using your Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax, however if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll offer advice and assistance where we can.
Use a Degreaser
To begin, make sure you completely remove any other lubricants from your E-Bike chain, including factory grease by using a high quality degreaser. If you’re unsure where to find one, we can offer a variety of options for you to choose from.
Rinse Chain
Using clean, lukewarm water, completely rinse off the chain. Pay extra attention to the chain connections and while doing this you can also check for any damage to the chain itself. It’s important to stay on top of chain maintenance to keep it lasting long-term.

Shake Bottle and Apply
Make sure your chain is completely dry before thoroughly shaking the bottle and carefully applying the wax to the inside of the chain. While doing this, turn the cranks to ensure you completely coat the inside of the chain.
Do Not Wipe
For the Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax to be effective, its essential to leave the wax to sit and soak into the chain. After five minutes, reapply the chain wax to the inside of the chain and once again leave it to sit.
Allow Chain to Dry
Before cycling, make sure the chain is completely dry, especially if you plan to cycle in wet conditions like rain. Avoid degreasing again unless absolutely necessary – the Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax should last for a good while.
How Often Should I Re-Apply Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax?
A general rule of thumb for re-applying Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax is every three hundred miles done on your bike as your chain should stay clean up to this from one application. For further protection, we recommend lubing your chain the day before riding in wet weather if it is possible to do so as in wet, muddy conditions the Squirt E-Bike Chain Wax will not last as long as it would in dry and debris free conditions. If you hear a dry chain noise, re-application is already overdue and should be done as soon as possible.
